Event recap: Club Meeting

The OSU Alumni Club of Butler County

September 14 , 2022 Bourbon’s Craft Kitchen and Bar , 2231 North Verity Parkway , Middletown , Ohio

President Cheryl Long called the meeting to order. Present were: Cheryl Long, Dave Banker, Dave Beeman, Karen and Marvin Stotz, Brian Lenihan and guest Lori, Al and Judy Karchner, and new volunteers, Tanya Copanas, Kris Henninger and Betsy Grimes.

Cheryl gave Treasurer’s Report: $6,555.04. Also , Fiscal Year is from July 1 to June 30.

Previous Secretary’s Report: Planning for July 17, 2022 picnic. Dave Banker was co-cordinator. In response to the Volunteer Letter sent to Butler, Warren, and Montgomery counties, Cheryl received 27 replies. Three people were able to attend , others indicated areas of interest where they might help. Cheryl gave an in-depth explanation of the club’s goals, especially the scholarship process, and our endowment fund.

A 2-page list of Category I Events Descriptions, the purpose of which is to “Engage Alumni and Friends in a variety of activities with our Buckeye Community, was distributed by Dave Beeman, as well as a page of possible events for our club. Kris, Betsy, and Tanya had great suggestions.

Old Business: Away bus trip to Michigan State University was cancelled due to lack of interest.

New Business: Next meeting : Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Bourbon Kitchen and Bar, 2231 North Verity Parkway, Middletown, OH, 6 – 7:30. New venues for possible game watches were discussed – possible Grain Works in Mason , and Cooper’s Hawk. Adjournment by Cheryl.
