President’s Message: December 2022

Happy Holidays to Buckeye Nation.

We are having a Happy Hour Meet N Greet on January 11, 2023 5:30 – 7:30 pm at Moeller Brew Barn 6550 Hamilton-Lebanon Rd Monroe. This will include a Silent Auction of OSU Memorabilia to help fund our Endowment. Watch for the special invitation to RSVP. We hope you will join our fun networking event to start 2023.

The OSU Alumni Assn with the West Michigan Alumni Club has invited us to join them for a virtual tour of the Jim Crow Museum and Panel Discussion on Wed Jan 25, 6:30 – 7:30 pm. The Director and Founder, Dr. David Pilgrim, is a two-time degree holder from OSU. Watch for the invitation to RSVP to this event.

Corey Tuck is working with Reynold’s Travel for our 2023 Away Football BusTrip We have narrowed the game down to Wisconsin 10/28 or Rutger’s 11/04. This is our major fundraiser each year so continue to watch for more details this spring.

Men’s Basketball Feb 12 and Women’s Basketball Jan 29 group tickets are being pursued. More information to follow.

The Scholarship Committee would like for you to pass along the word to any Butler County HS Senior about our annual Butler Co. Scholarship. They should apply through ScholarshipUniverse on the OSU Financial Aid website.

April is Volunteer Month. SAVE the DATE: April 22 or April 29 TBA.

We are still looking for volunteers to help on various committees. I really need someone to step up to chair our Annual Scholarship Banquet. We need to find a new venue, a caterer, and someone to chair the raffle etc. If anyone would like to step up for this or any other committee then reply to our email which is listed below.

Thanks to the new members and those who have volunteered to help take the slack off of our small core group by becoming a chairperson. You have no idea what you have meant to us. We are blessed to have you.

Our next monthly meeting will be Wed Feb 8, 2023 at the Olive Garden 6710 Roosevelt Blvd Middletown starting at 6 pm. All are welcome.

New Members are welcome to become part of our OSU Family. We have members from Butler, Warren and Montgomery County.
