President’s Message October 2023

Our longtime club member Al Karchner passed away. Visitation is October 14 from 1-2 p.m. with a Celebration of Life starting at 2pm at the First Presbyterian Church 2910 Central Ave Middletown. Cards can be sent to Judy at 140 Cincinnati Circle Monroe, OH 45050.

Our Group Home Football game is on October 21 vs Penn State. Tailgate party will be at Woody’s Tavern in the OHIO Union 2-3 hours before game time. Join us if you are in the area.

Betsy Grimes and Gerard Fournier will host this fun event.

November 4 is our Away Rutgers Football Bus Trip. We annually partner with Reynold’s Travel.  This is our main fundraiser for our scholarship fund. We appreciate your support.

Our Annual Christmas Party will be December 8, 2023 with tentative plans at Warped Wing Brew Pub & Smokery in Mason.

We have received 20 responses from our recent Butler County Survey.  We have12 Buckeyes that have shown an interest in joining us for future activities.  Nine additional surveys were received from our current membership with great input for our club. We encourage new ideas and future members from our vast number of alumni in our area. Hope that every one of you will take the time to join us at our monthly organizational meeting and an upcoming function or two.

2022-23 Butler County scholarship winners were Vaughn Cheney, Lakota East HS, Emma Letany, Fairfield HS, Jayci Geiser, Edgewood. Kaylee Wray, Fairfield HS.   Congratulations to these fine new Buckeyes.                                                

Monthly board and committee meeting will be Nov 8 at Bourbon Kitchen, 2231 N. Verity Parkway Middletown 6 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend for a short meeting, dinner and drinks and lots of Buckeye fellowship.
