Join us at our next meeting on March 13 at the Rusty Bucket 7524 Bales St. Liberty Township (at Liberty Center). We will convene at 6pm. Patti Connors, our OSU liaison, will be in attendance to give us an update on what is happening within the OSU Alumni Association.
This is a great opportunity for new members. As additional incentive, new attendees will get to select an item from our College Traditions gift box!
President’s Message for March 2024
We want to thank Heather Reister, OSU Extension Office Educator of Butler County for being our guest at our February Board Meeting. She was able to give us some information on how we can work together to promote our club and events throughout Butler County.
Joan Grigger, Scholarship Chair, has advised us that applicants have until March 15 to submit their application through OSU. We will be providing up to three scholarships this year.
We showed up in full force to support our Men’s Basketball team in their game against Purdue. Huge shoutout to Coach Deibler and our incredible Basketball Buckeyes for their outstanding performance! The atmosphere at the sold-out Schottenstein Center was electric, with over 20 of our fellow club members and passionate Buckeye fans cheering alongside us. Witnessing the exhilarating moment when the students and fans stormed the court was absolutely unforgettable!
Our annual volunteer event at Matthew 25 Ministries 11060 Kenwood Road, Blue Ash will be on April 20, 2024 from 9-11 a.m. You will need to sign up for the event, add your shirt size for your new Buckeye Volunteer shirt and an rsvp request if you are staying for lunch. Please see the details and sign-up link below.
We have decided to cancel our plans for the Charity Bike/Walk event. Doug Dunlap & committee members discovered a list of hurdles. We will revisit this in 2025.
Steve Hannon has put together a survey for interest in the away Football bus trip to Michigan State on Saturday Sept 28. This information gathering will be vital in providing maximizing participation in this fun event. More details to follow.
The Greene County Alumni Club will be sending information to our Butler Co. Alumni for their upcoming OSU Campus tour on Wednesday, April 24. The tour will start at the new Theatre Building, break for lunch, then onto the Center for Epigraphical and Paleographical Studies and wrap up next door to see a display at the Byrd Polar Lab.
Join your fellow Buckeyes for an evening under the stars at the Dayton Dragons game on Friday, May 17th, starting at 7:00 PM as they face off against the Great Lake Loons. Bring your family, blankets, and snacks to enjoy the game from the outfield lawn. The open-lawn seating is perfect for families or anyone seeking a great deal with tickets priced at just $14. Plus, half of the ticket proceeds will go directly to support our Butler County OSU Alumni Club.
College Traditions continues to support our club. If you make a purchase in the store or online please reference the Butler County Alumni Club AL9537 so 15% will be rebated back to our club.
HELP: We encourage each of you to join or renew your club membership. We are working hard to provide a variety of events to keep our local Buckeye’s engaged and connected. Individual membership is only $15 and couple is $20. These funds help defray some of the costs for putting on our events. Please see Dues and Donations below.
As Always – Go BUCKS,
Cheryl
