Jul 31, 2024| Hey Everyone! It’s a great day to be a Buckeye! My name is Doug Dunlap (Class of 1980) and I’m honored to be your new Alumni Club President. I greatly appreciate Past President Cheryl Long’s many years of leadership and her willingness to prepare me for this wonderful role. Thanks Cheryl! Congratulations again to our new board and committee chairs: Doug Dunlap, President David Beeman, VP Gina Johnson, Secretary and Membership Coordinator David Stone, Treasurer and Newsletter Coordinator Tanya Copanas, Communication Coordinator Betsy Grimes, Social Chair Joan Grigger, Scholarship Chair Georgette Wilson, Community Outreach Steve Hannon, Away Football Game and Game Watches Kevin Strait, Home Football Game and OSU Tours Betsy Grimes and Carrie Montgomery, Book Club Coordinators Many Buckeyes enjoyed a guided tour of the American Art Collection and lunch at the Cincinnati Art Museum on June 22. Many thanks to Social Chairperson Betsy Grimes for organizing this terrific event. Joan Grigger, Scholarship Chair, and her committee members Kevin Strait, Georgette Wilson, Gina Johnson, Kris Henninger completed the selection process for our three scholarship winners: Olivia Wilson – Lakota East HS, has accepted the Debbie McCormick Memorial Scholarship that is funded by the late Don McCormick, his wife Mary Lou and their children Cathy and Scott. Daniella Otisi – Fairfield HS and Alexa Schatze – Lakota East HS has won our Butler County Endowment Scholarship. Congratulations to our new Buckeyes! We’re partnering with the Butler County OSU Extension Office to have a display booth at the Butler County Fair on Tuesday, July 23 from Noon – 5 p.m. Our booth will be in the Farm Zone Building (Red Barn). Stop by and say hi! We will host our annual Summer Send-Off Scholarship Picnic on July 28 at the Warren County Armco Park 1223 N. State Route 741 Lebanon, OH. Shelter 9. The club will provide hamburgers and hotdogs, soft drinks, water and beer. Please bring a covered dish to share. Our Scholarship winners and their families will be in attendance so come and meet our new Buckeyes. Sign-up HERE to help us accurately plan for the number of attendees. |
