President’s Message August 2024
Aug 19, 2024Hey Everyone! It’s a great day to be a Buckeye! Our club has been busy this Summer, we partnered with the OSU Butler County Extension to showcase a display booth at the Butler County Fair on June 23. See pictures below. Many thanks to Cheryl Long, Su Hansbauer, Dave Beeman, Buckeye Marv, and Dave Stone for taking the time to heighten the awareness of our club at this community event. 56 Buckeyes attended our Annual Scholarship Picnic on Sunday, July 28 at Warren County Armco Park in Lebanon. Several new members attended, including Jim and Lisa Allen, who displayed their Buckeye Ford Mustang. Scholarship recipients Alexa Schatze and Olivia Wilson, both of Lakota East High School, and their families were introduced. Scholarship winner Daniella Otisi was on vacation. We weathered the initial rain and had a great time! See pictures below. Our club has been allotted 35 tickets to purchase for the Nebraska game on October 26 (which happens to be Homecoming Weekend!). Game time TBD. Our seats are in C Deck, Section 27 and cost $132 per ticket – first come first serve. We’re putting together a tailgate party in the Schottenstein Center parking lot as well. Purchase tickets HERE. Any questions, contact Kevin Strait at kstrait425@aol.com. This season, all Game Watch Parties will take place at the newly opened Shooters Sports Grill, located at 877 NW Washington Blvd. in Hamilton. Owners Alison (an OSU alum) and Todd Helton, who are also enthusiastic new club members, proudly display their Buckeye pride with numerous signed Ohio State football jerseys throughout the restaurant. The venue features two spacious party rooms, each equipped with two 60” screen TVs, ensuring a fantastic viewing experience. Enjoy great food, drinks, and the chance to win exciting raffle prizes as you join your fellow Buckeyes for an unforgettable game day experience! Scheduled Game Watch Parties: September 28 vs. Michigan State October 12 vs. Oregon November 30 vs. The Team Up North Unfortunately, due to logistical issues, we have decided to cancel the Michigan State away game tickets offering. Have a great month . . . and Go Bucks! Doug Dunlap |
